Hanover has one of the most beautiful Baroque gardens in the world. Visit the large garden with its garden theatre, the labyrinth and one of the highest fountains. The garden was designed under the direction of Sophie von der Pfalz in the French style. This attraction belongs to the best-kept Baroque gardens in Europe. The opening of the Niki de Saint Phalle grotto in May 2003 marks an additional gain for this area.
In the Berggarten (mountain garden), not only an extraordinary plant world but also a tropical rain forest house are fascinating to see. Also the Maschsee (Masch lake) with its many possibilities, attracts people all the year round – whether to Summer parties or to wintry festivals with mulled wine and punch.
From open-air concerts to a pleasant stroll through the city, Hanover has much to offer. Whether it is a Schützenfest (a festival/party which features shooting matches), a Maschseefest (a party at the lake), an international firework competition in the Herrenhäuser Gärten or a great concert at the EXPO square, Tui Arena or on the park stage – in Hanover, you will always find the suitable entertainment.
